Today’s the second day of the blog tour! I received the proof copy of the novella yesterday and am working on finishing some tweaks. ๐
Let’s talk about the setting and genre for The Thief, The Damsel, And The Dragon. This novella takes place in a small town in North Carolina during the summer. It isn’t the first time NC has been the setting for one of my books — JUMP takes place in NC, as well. Can y’all tell I really love North Carolina? ๐
My grandparents live pretty close to the tourist attractions (Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Franklin, etc) so when we visit them, we often go to the cities. But I adore the mountains, backroads that twist through the dense trees, and, just, gah! Writing TT,TD,TD definitely made me want to go visit again!
Now, let’s talk genre! TT,TD,TD is a Christian, contemporary romance. The romance is sweet and clean. Contemporary isn’t a new genre for me (both Seek and JUMP are contemporaries), but the difference with this novella is it’s not action/adventure or paranormal — which is a first for me! I intended from the start for this novella to challenge me, and it sure did, because I didn’t write any car chases or have paranormal activity. It was still plenty of fun, though I can’t wait to get back to some action writing. ๐

My favorite Summer activity is probably reading, with swimming being a close second. Only problem is, I can’t read and swim at the same time! ๐

It is quite the conundrum. ;D But I love those things, too. A million dollar idea is water proof books… ๐
Sorry I was not able to participate in the blog tour (๐ข๐ข๐ข๐ข), but I did enter the giveaway!! Is it okay to hope I win? ๐
By the way, my fave summer activity is doing nothing ๐๐๐๐. Just kidding. I love reading and writing ๐๐
No problem! =) Thanks for checking out the tour. โฅโฅ
LOL! I feel ya. Sometimes the sun is just perfect for taking a nap. ;D
By the way, I loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooove the setting for this book. Not enough books have the southern setting, and it’s just perfect!! ๐โคโคโคโค
Ahhhh, agreed! =D โฅ It is just so pretty and there’s the choice of ‘city’ or ‘very country’ in NC. xD Thanks, Penny!
I think I could write a million books set just in NC and not get tired of it. It’s so lovely!! โค
You’re welcome, Angela!! ๐๐๐
By the way, do you live in NC?
I feel ya!! I actually live in Tennessee. =) But I would love to move to NC. My grandparents live there, so we just might. ๐
I hope you do! I live in a tiny town in NC, and I love it.
(And there’s a house for sale right next to me. Tell your parents to move beside us ๐๐๐)
Oh my gosh, that sounds epic. Seriously. xD Let me go pack. xD
xD That would be awesome!!!! โค ๐๐
The setting was absolutely perfect! <3 I want to visit North Carolina someday! Sounds gorgeous! ๐
It is amazing!! *heart eyes* I might be a wee bit obsessed. ;P If you ever visit, let me know, I can show you around, lol!
Sounds like a plan!
Your book sounds cool! My favorite summer activity would be swimming, jet skiing, riding my horse, gardening, etc. I can’t decide!!! ๐
I entered the giveaway! But can I ask, how do ebooks work?
Thanks!
-Brooklyne
Riding horses and gardening are so fun!! I’ve never been jet skiing before, though. =D
eBooks are basically a Kindle copy on Amazon. ๐
