The Sound of Leaves Against the Sky

The leaves are changing colors- fresh yellows, familiar oranges, crisp browns, and burnt reds- and the hills are rolling with the new autumn air. I love this time of year. I love fall; the smells, the wave of peace and settlement. Starting to get ready for winter, but still basking in the suns glow. It’s great.

Fall isn’t the only thing that’s been up here at the Watts house. πŸ™‚ My brother Kody went up for his blue belt in karate! AND HE DID IT! He did so well!

That’s right. I am so proud of you Kody- you have crazy dedication and passion. Rock on!! β™₯

So, since we went to his belt testing on Saturday, we got up early….

And when we got back, Kody and I were home alone- so we cleaned a little, sang, and watched Voltron. Did I mention we got unlimited Internet and everything? WE HAVE NETFLIX! *screaming*

The lighting’s a bit weird, but… Regional At Best!

The 19th was Tory’s birthday! πŸ˜€ We got her presents and a cake. =)

Birthday girl. πŸ™‚ (and the lil girl who wants food in the background… LOL!)

Her cake! πŸ˜€

She had fun she said. πŸ˜‰ My birthday is the 30th this month and I’m sorta freaking out but I’m excited but very ‘AHHH’ at the same time. =D I trust God to help me on. β™₯

And, on Friday (the 21st), we also woke up early and went out… And we welcome the newest addition to our family home, 16.2 hands and all, Skipper.

Skip

Skip (Skipper) is a 17 yr old quarter horse/Thoroughbred cross. πŸ™‚ He’s a big ol’ boy, and we’re excited to get to know him. We put him in with Cosmo and Lucy- Cosmo isn’t fond of the arrangement, because Skip is trying to take Lucy… ;D But I’m sure they’ll work it out. They were better this morning- all eatin’ at the hay bale.

Roger rode Skip first, and then Rey rode with him (she LOVED it), Kody, and then me. πŸ™‚ He’s a great ride- he’s so big, and he’s super smooth. πŸ™‚ It’s great. Except that he likes our fruit trees… He snagged a bite of one of the lil’ branches… xD

So that makes 15 horses. We are incredibly blessed! Our family is getting bigger, and I’m so glad. β™₯

As the weather changes and gets cooler, the curlies are growing back their curly coats… Ulu and Matoska’s coat gets smoother in hot weather, and is curlier in the cold.

We also moved fields around. πŸ™‚ So the curlies are in the field with the pond, and the domestic horses are closer to our house… It went smooth and they all like the new arrangements.

The curly and southern field saying ‘hello’

Last week was Succot (during Tory’s birthday…). We built a shelter, with trees we cut down, and tied up, then tied to a tree. It took lots of Dad, Kody, and Roger’s engineering brilliance (lol), but it looks great! Kody and Rey put Christmas lights all over it. β™₯ It was amazing to sing songs under it in the dark.

And we’ve been working on more fences, so here’s some pictures of that!

We’ve been working with the babies too… They’ve done GREAT! We’ve been working with water hoses, blankets, and the whip (which we run over them to get them used to it). They’ve all made amazing progress. β™₯

Praise be to the Father for keeping our journey safe and on going. β™₯ Β We’ve all been doing well. πŸ™‚ Β

~~~
Β I’m also going to be posting a page for my books! πŸ™‚ Kinda give the base of what each book is, have that nifty lil’ page of info, so no one gets confused… Β Ma said it would be good, so I’ve been working on it a bit… Wasn’t sure how to do it but hey, there’s no ultimate way, so I just did it. πŸ˜‰
I am not doing NaNo this year. *sigh* Yes, it is fun and amazing and super cool, and I’d love to do it- but Yahweh has not put a story on my heart to do yet- and not for writing in a month’s time only, either…. So I’m not that bummed anymore. πŸ™‚ Yahweh hasn’t told me to do it it so I’m not. Instead *drum roll*… I’m editing Seek! I mean I have been editing Seek, but yeah, I’m not going to start another project until Seek is finished. πŸ™‚ I’d love to have Seek done being edited by Christmas…. That’s the goal but I’ll see what happens. β™₯
Well! I know I’ve been gone for a while (I was shocked to find I haven’t blogged in 20 days… My bad…) but we were sick for a week (UGH) but are doing better now of course. My birthday is in 4 days. I’m freaked out (just a smidge…) but also very excited! Not entirely sure what we’ll be doing for that special day (haha) but I’ve got some ideas. πŸ˜‰ I’m just praying we have a safe, fun day with everyone, and thank God for giving me this time on earth.
I hope you all have a great weekend, and enjoyed my photos and updates on life. πŸ™‚ YHVH bless!
-Angela
    Oh, you have a grulla curly horse! (My favorite horse color ever)! I love yur new horse! *sighs* I wish I had 15 horses…my parents probably wouldn’t be so excited though if I got more. (I have two of my own already).
      Yes! We actually have two grullas; Ceremony and Comanche, though they are not related. They are two different shades of grulla but I’m not good at all of the names for that. πŸ˜‰ They are beautiful boys, it’s a wonderful color.
      Thank you! He’s a big surprise, and a blessing, I’m looking forward to taking him on the trail. Do you trail ride?
      I saw your two horses! πŸ˜€ Your cremello is a beauty, I first saw her and was like ‘Oh wow, she looks like Taloowa!’ =D So do you barrel race? That’s cool, my sis Tory loves barrel racing!
            No, just the speed events like barrel racing, pole bending, etc. πŸ™‚
            Awesome! Yeah, that sounds fun… I mean, I certainly have never done it. ;D How long have you been riding? πŸ™‚
    Hey, by the way, what color is Taloowa? Like, official color. She looks like a cremello sort of, and if she is, my mare is the same color as her. πŸ™‚
      I had to ask to make sure lol, but yes! Taloowa is a cremello. πŸ™‚ She has blue eyes and pink around them, and she’s pretty much completely white too, though her mane/tail/legs are tinted this orange-swirl ice cream color. ;D Your mare is beautiful! πŸ˜€
