An Assortment Of Tags

Greetings, folks! It’s been a rainy past few days, so what better way to enjoy the rain that write my novel? Oh, wait. This is a blog post. Well, same difference! Besides, I’ve been writing like crazy (I am crazy, after all) in Seek. It’s sooo CLOSE TO BEING DONE AHH. But more on Seek later. 🙂

Anyway, I’ve been tagged- well, tagged, and also, I’m stealing some tags. So. I am doing some tags! Thanks to Paul,  Hailey, and Jazzy (I stole this tag from both Paul and Jazzy, but they’re good sports, ha) for some tags. They all did the Blue Sky tag and tagged me; so, thanks, people!

  The Blue Sky Tag RULES:

  • Thank the person who tagged you
  • Answer their 11 questions
  • Tag 11 people
  • Give them 11 questions to answer

Paul’s questions:

Why did you start writing?

I’ve been writing since I was able to write- and before then! My first book was me telling a story aloud, while a family member wrote it down for me. I illustrated the whole book, too. I still have it! I don’t remember how old I was then… I should ask my parents. Hm…

It wasn’t ever a huge, conscious ‘I’m a writer now!’…. I’ve always been writing. Telling stories. Little ones, big ones. On paper or aloud. I guess to say ‘why’, it would be entirely God’s doing. God made me a writer, a story teller. Words are a gift from Yahweh. So, I started writing because God put it in me to. 🙂

What are you currently writing?

I am currently rewriting my novel, which I wrote in July 2016, Seek! I am on draft two, and I rewrote most of it during April’s camp NaNo… But I am still finishing it up *screams*. Seek has been what I’ve been mainly working on. It is my first novel to finish!

Do/did you sleepwalk? Sleep talk?

No. I’ve never sleep walked before. I think I have talked in my sleep, but not a lot.

What’s one book or movie that makes you cry every time?

A movie that makes me cry every time would be…. The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty. I have watched that movie twice, and it makes me cry like a baby every time. It’s not that I’m a hard person to cry during movies… lots of movies and books make me cry out of sadness. Almost every Francine Rivers novel I’ve read has made me cry. Jesseca Wheaton’s ‘A Question Of Honor’ made me cry. The Magnificent Seven made me cry a little (mostly angry, though. Anyway.)

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty… just sky rocketed me. It grounds me in such a big way. Maybe it’s weird. It doesn’t seem like a movie you cry to. The movie just hit me in a resignating way…. by the time the last song plays, and the photos roll… I’m a baby. The movie is so beautiful to me.

If you could time travel back in time once as far as the second century, what specific event would you attend?

I know there’s a lot of things to go see, and to do…. I’d like to see the Civil War. I wouldn’t want to go to WWII, you know, but I’d still want to meet a soldier back then who was fighting. There’s so much history that would be epic to go and live…. but I don’t really want to choose any of that. If I had the chance, I would go back in time and meet my Ma’s Granny and Grandpa. I believe they were watching me in heaven, before I was born, but if I could go back and actually meet them…. that’d be cool.

Who is the most influential person in your life?

Person… person… hm… My parents. I know, that’s two people, ha. But it’s true. I don’t have this ONE person that I adore as some ‘follow figure’…. but my parents are people I look up to. I know they don’t have all the answers to life- but they have wisdom and guidance that is always amazing.

What are the two most influential books you have read?

THE LIVING WORD OF GOD! The Bible, of course. ;D But, assuming that one is a given… let me choose two more. 😛

The first is This Present Darkness by Frank Peretti. A LOT of books have influenced me… but that book…. has stuck with me. It’s so true and done in such a great way. The second book would be… maybe And The Shofar Blew by Francine Rivers. That was a great book. It wasn’t so much that it hit me on a relatable level, though. Peretti’s book sort of did.

What is your favorite song? Why?

Awful question because it is impossible. xD I love a ton of songs. Way too many to pick one! And I love each one for a different reason… A song by Elvis or Bon Jovi, would remind me of my parents, so those are favorites. A song that helped me through a hard time, like one of Twenty One Pilots’ song. I can’t answer this question.

Do you like to eat sushi?

NO. NO. Nope. Absolutely not. I have not tried it, and will not. That stuff has parasites! No thanks. ;P

Have you ever thrown a book across the room? Why?

Yes, I have. More than once. xD Usually because I’m mad someone died. Or it sucked period.

What is creativity like for you? Is brainstorming like hitting your head on the wall or like peacefully soaring through the clouds, enjoying the view below you?

A bit of both, I’d say. Sometimes, it’s like clawing at a brick wall as bricks are thrown down at me- oh wait, I’m making them fall on me by hitting the wall. Other times, it’s like getting a present dropped in my lap and before I realize I’ve opened the box, bam! A big chocolate cookie.

If I’m forcing myself too hard, as in looking past the obvious, then it can be very tricky. If I pray, talk, and let the story/characters move themselves…. it works alright.

Hailey’s Questions:

Why did you start your blog?

I started my blog in 2013 to share my writing bits. During that time, I was writing a novella ‘Flying And Diving’. I finished that novella when I was 12 years old. I was publsihing each chapter on my blog. Unfortutantly, I lost the whole novella because I deleted the posts…. and didn’t save them. So. But yes; I started my blog to just rant and ramble.

If you could have dinner with any one person who’s alive right now, who would you choose?

Other than my family members, right? Because I’m dying for a vacation and an awesome family dinner. Yeah.

Probably….. anyone? Ted Dekker. I know, I know; but I’d really like to meet him and just talk about writing, Yeshua, and just…. everything. So. I guess him.

Favorite book of the Bible and why?

ALL OF THEM. I can’t choose just one. 😛 I really love Psalms, Isaiah, John…. those are go-to books.

Favorite music genre to listen to?

I don’t have just one genre. I’ll listen to rock, pop, instrumental…. some of everything.

What’s your earliest memory?

Uh…. I have a LOT of ’em, but one, I was like… 4 years old? And we were moving in our van, and I had my princess pillow…. I remember that. Haha.

What job would you be great at, and what job would you be horrible at?

OK SOO…. I’m open for any job or mission that God has for me. I’d do my best. I’m doing my best right now, ha. But….. I really pray I can do something at home. I pray to be a published author, and have a small farm/ranch with my family…. So, whatever God says, but I want to be a stay at home worker. 😉

I’d be bad at a lotta jobs, lol! Like… waitressing (shh that’s a word). I don’t think I could do it. Like, I don’t know if I’m that good of a listener and I doubt I could be very nice for long…. so. Oops. 😛

Dream vacation spot?

Somewhere in the mountains, like Pigeon Forge of Gatlinburg. Also, THE BEACH. BEACH.

When writing, are you a plotter or a pantser? (fyi- plotters have a detailed outline beforehand, and pantsers [me] just make it up as they go along!)

Somewhere in between, I don’t know. Don’t really care… I mean, I don’t wing it totally, but there’s a point where I don’t have it all plotted to the T…. I pray and trust God to guide me, and if something’s gotta be changed or tweaked, that’s awesome. 🙂

What makes you angry?

Hm. Different things. Abortion makes me angry; it breaks my heart. People being rude to the elderly makes me angry, and parents not having a grip on their kids (like letting them run across the parking lot. uh.) is annoying….

What accomplishments in your life are you most proud of?

I’ve written 3 books (that I completed) in my life. One story when I was younger, a novella when I was 12, and I wrote my first novel when I was 14 (Seek. I’m rewriting it now.). I also won an art contest at the library; the art thing was judged by Dan Walter McKnight soo that was cool. I also won first place in the USEWF championships.

All in all; I’m proud of my family. We’ve all come so far in life. Nothing has stopped us, because of JESUS. Accomplishments are great, but the biggest thing to be proud of us is loving others. And loving God.

What has God been teaching you lately?

God has been teaching me to have absolute faith. To not be scared, or to lose faith, just when it seems that all the doors are shut and you’re in a hallway of utter darkness. You have to keep fighting, keep praying; and at some point, simply be still. And know that HE IS GOD. Nothing else is god. No one else. Jesus loves us, and He won’t let us fall away.

Jazzy’s questions:

Who is your favorite song artist at the moment?

UHH…. I’ve been listening a lot to (at the moment…) Jon Bellion, Twenty One Pilots, and Linkin Park. Jon Bellion is sorta new to me, though.

ICE-CREAM or FROZEN YOGURT?

ICE CREAM. I don’t really like frozen yogurt.

What is one word/phrase that is uniquely yours? (like I say “OMYGUAC”) If this is not applicable, what is your favorite phrase to use as an exclamation?

Uh… Sheezits. Sheezits. I made the word up. It’s like my ‘AH’ word. Haha!

Are you a neat-freak or an artistically organized mess?

Both, I guess. I’m not a total mess (thanks, Mom), but…. I also have some areas where I’m not immaculate. 😛

How would you label your humor? (silly, blond, sarcastic, dry, savage, etc.)

Very sarcastic and dry. Occasionally savage but sometimes, folks don’t know I’m joking, so I try to tone it down… I can also be a huge goof.

Who was your Bible hero when you were a kid? Has that changed?

I watched Veggie Tales all the time but… I don’t remember a Bible person I actually focused on. Hm. But now, I really learn from Moses, and Ruth, and King David.

Do you have a life-verse?

Not exactly. The whole Bible is my life verse.

How would you change society for the better?

I WOULD MAKE EVERYONE WATCH DAFFY DUCK. Ha. kidding. Can’t force people against their will, right? Not very American. But seriously: I would have to demolish abortion. How can a society go up, when it allows the murder of innocent babies?

What is one memory that your heart clings to and no matter how old and worn it becomes, you still have the same feelings now as you did then?

Hmmm… that’s hard. I have a few… But this is really tricky. Wow. I’m sorry I just can’t find this one.

What is one of your weird obsessions?

Hm… Obsessions? I don’t know. I like collecting rocks, but that’s not a weird thing…

When did you just totally act upon impulse, regardless of consequences?

Ha, just one incident? ;D Well, one non-important time, I grabbed someone’s kid from running across the karate dojo floor. 😛 Uh… GEEZ I know I have done impulsive things but I’m drawing a blank.
