A Gift To Be Thankful For

thanks

The Watts family (us, haha) had a happy Thanksgiving! Our Internet spazzed out (for some reason, not sure why?), so on Thanksgiving we had no Internet. We think it was Yahweh’s way of saying ‘Be still, and relax’- which is what we did!

We had a great Thanksgiving meal. 🙂 Turkey, mashed potatoes, deviled eggs (we made 72 boiled eggs. Aww yes.), so much more- and desserts. Ahh, brownies, pies, lemon cake… I had never actually tried pie before, so this year I tried pumpkin pie and cheese cake, both that Tory made homemade, and they were good! Try something new every year, it’s worth it.

YUM

We had a relaxing day… Dad and Kody went hunting later on. Dad shot a small buck the night before Thanksgiving! 😀 A small spike, but it is venison. Yum! 😀

Yeah, I took a nap after we ate, haha.

There is a lot to be thankful for, in this life. Our family, a roof over our heads, being able to do what we love to do… There is a lot to be thankful for- good things to be thankful for.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 – In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

But Yeshua says to be thankful for ALL things- that’s where it gets harder. How can we be thankful for the things that knock us down? That hurt us? That make our spirits ache? How do we be thankful for the things we try so hard to ignore or pray against?

15And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

16Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

17And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, [do] all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

-Colossians 3:15-17

My family and I were talking about what we were thankful for: each other, our ranch, our soldiers and cops who fight for our freedom, freedom, for our new president and the people who voted for him- we listed quite a bit. But we wouldn’t have of these things to love, to be thankful for- if Yeshua Messiah had not given us the Greatest Gift, so, so many years ago.

2 Corinthians 9:15 – Thanks [be] unto God for his unspeakable gift.

Yeshua shed His own, innocent blood for every single person’s sins. We are not innocent, but Yeshua was. And the Messiah came down as a man, and let Himself be crucified, so that we may seek and find eternal life through HIM ONLY. The LIGHT is the Greatest Gift- without what Yeshua did… We would not have anything. Anything. He sacrificed Himself, the Holy, Pure Lamb- so that we could live.  Messiah died and rose again. THAT is something to be thankful for. That is what will give us joy and fulfill us- YESHUA ADONAI.

Psalms 106:1 – Praise ye the LORD. O give thanks unto the LORD; for [he is] good: for his mercy [endureth] for ever.

This life is such a gift. Messiah has given it to each of us, and everything we have to be thankful for, we have because of Him. He has blessed each of us: this day of the year is not a Biblical holiday, but is a pretty good one anyway. A time to remind ourselves of what is good. A time of year to gather the ones we love around and list things off that we’re thankful for. But that’s when we fall short, because listing things we’re thankful for is sure to leave us feeling empty still and like there is a gap somewhere. We’ve missed something. And we have. We can never be full, never find true joy and peace, without Yahweh Elohim. It is He who has given us this life, and He will bless us, if we follow Him.

That isn’t always an easy thing to do. We’re supposed to be thankful for all things- that can be hard. Especially if we’re still blind and can’t see how things are glorifying God and benefiting us where we cannot see: but it doesn’t matter, because one day, we’ll look back, and be glad we trusted God. One day, we’ll see that it all played a part. Maybe a messy one. Maybe a foggy one. But it is all in God’s hands.

This Thanksgiving was a different one for me. I’ve learned some stuff, it was a eye-opener in a small amount of time. 😉 What did I come to? I realized that this is the time of year where everyone’s starting to stress because wow Christmas is one month away. And I have a driver’s ED test or some sort to start studying for. And just life piles up.

But we don’t have to choose that. We don’t have to choose the doubt or lies that Satan will shove at us when God wants us to shine the most. We can say ‘NO’- God is with us, and He gives us that power. So, I guess I see that I can lift my voice up and glorify G0d. I do not have to be afraid. Because Yeshua died for me, and He will not forsake me. Because this life is a journey, and we’re all just passin’ through- but for God’s Plan and purpose. And He wants us to have a joyful heart on fire for Him, and we can do that.

Psalms 30:12 – To the end that [my] glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever.

So yeah, we had a great Thanksgiving, and I spilled some of my heart. 😉 YHVH bless!
