It’s day 4… Only 3 days left of this tour! *flails* Let’s get right to it.
BLURB
Angel Cutler’s routine life is overturned when local ganglord Viktor Marino tries to kidnap her. When she finds out her adopted sister is back in town and working with Viktor, Angel has to run away with the protection of two total strangers. Can Angel have faith in God to protect her family when she can’t?
Elijah Davis has seen Viktor bleed once, and to save his family, he’ll make it happen again. But who is the One Eli can turn to when he realizes he can’t protect his loved ones alone?
Hiding from gangsters and gunfire, the trio struggle to seek God above all else and trust that His plan is greater than their own. Or Viktor Marino’s.

OH GOLLY, Y’ALL! This guest post is about finding shelter in God and I really loved writing it. Be sure to check it out…
FAMILY BONDS
One of the funnest things to write in Seek was the family bonds. This book has a strong, functioning family who remain faithful through the hard times. It also has a dysfunctional family who broke apart when things grew difficult. The family ties in this novel heavily reflected my own and those I have seen.
My family is pretty tight. Despite trials, we stick together. We love each other. We have each other’s backs. Not many families have this blessing nowadays. While the Cutler family in Seek resemble my family as we are today, the Davis family in Seek resemble other family relationships I know of. Without going into great detail, Elijah Davis’ family fell apart after his father turned to alcohol.
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.” – 1 Corinthians 13:4-8
Wow, huh? Love is way more than a simple tug at the gut or feeling! Writing Seek, I was shown just how much God loves us, and what that means. It doesn’t mean God loves us and leaves us out to fend for ourselves. Oh, no! It means God protects us, will never fail us, is patient with us, and has more mercy than we deserve. Love is a huge gift! Even when we want to throttle those we love, we have to watch what we do and say, because in the end, we don’t want to hurt our family. Love is not always acting on impulse emotions. We have to watch what we say and do!
In life, it hurts to watch our family members walk away. Whether we can restore a relationship with them or not, we still love them (even if that love isn’t returned). The thing about family is we can’t make our loved ones do what we want them to do. In Seek, Eli Davis wants something from his little brother, and he tries hard to get it, but of course, we can’t control our family members (even if we think we know what’s best for them). Can you relate?
God knows how we feel, y’all. He knows how much it hurts to have family betray us. Think about Jesus and Judas! That was very up close and personal, and it hurt Jesus. When Peter betrayed Jesus, Jesus saw it coming, but He still loved Peter. And every day, when we sin or turn away from God, it hurts Him.
Losing people hurts, but not loving our family while we have them will hurt us far worse. Jesus is our example and He loved knowing what His followers would do. We may know our family member(s) won’t choose us when the going gets tough, but we can love them from a distance. We have to hold fast to those who are loyal, who love us through thick and thin. Blood bonds or not, those people are family.

Congrats on that proof copy!! The family dynamics of this book is one thing that really sucked me in. I loved seeing the characters overcome the unique emotional roadblocks that their situations created.
My favorite thing about winter is either decorating or the beauty of the snow. As long as I don’t have to be outside in the cold for very long 😂
Thank you SO much, Michaela! ♥♥ I love hearing your thoughts!! =D
Agreed. And I hate ice. But some snow is nice? xD We don’t get a ton here in TN. 😛
