BLURB

Angel Cutler’s routine life is overturned when local ganglord Viktor Marino tries to kidnap her. When she finds out her adopted sister is back in town and working with Viktor, Angel has to run away with the protection of two total strangers. Can Angel have faith in God to protect her family when she can’t?

Elijah Davis has seen Viktor bleed once, and to save his family, he’ll make it happen again. But who is the One Eli can turn to when he realizes he can’t protect his loved ones alone?

Hiding from gangsters and gunfire, the trio struggle to seek God above all else and trust that His plan is greater than their own. Or Viktor Marino’s.

SEEKING GOD THROUGH PAIN

Like I said in the first post of this blog tour, God taught me a lot about seeking Him over the past few years. It has been painful, even after my adopted sister left. My Mom got sick with Chronic Lyme disease around the same time. Instead of getting a break, my family was dragged into another painful journey.

Despite the trials and sorrows we’ve faced, I don’t regret anything. I don’t wish things had gone differently. As I wrote Seek, I learned what life was really about. Life is about seeking the Lord in all we do, praying to Him, loving him with all our heart, mind, and soul. Nothing else will bring us joy or fulfillment! Only Jesus can give us worth.

The main characters in Seek all go through journeys as they draw closer to the Lord. I related greatly to the characters Angel and Elijah because of how they learned to forgive the ones they loved, even if they still have to say goodbye. Asher Mackinnley may be seen as a mere comic relief side character, but to me, he’s what it looks like to love God and find joy, even when the odds are against you.

The family bonds in Seek are heavily inspired by my family. As we go through difficulties, we stick together. As I wrote Seek, I began to see just how much my family had my back, and just how much I could help them by prayer. I can’t protect everyone from every single conflict. But I can trust God that He will love my family more than I ever could. It is when we seek God that we see these kind of truths, and we can find confidence in His love when our flesh fails. This is what Seek taught me.
