I have been gone for so long, I apologize. There’s much to catch up on; both Step By Step Sanctuary wise, and other stuff, too. π I’m going to make more than one post surely, but let’s focus. (On an important side note, I really need to make these updates as they happen… Luckily, Ma and Tory do update our Facebook page ‘Step By Step Sanctuary’ as things happen, and you can now find the page easy on the sidebar of my blog.)
Let’s see… (I’m lost in all the photos on my laptop that I and everyone took lol where am I…)
Y’all know Ulu, our Curly App mare.
Well, long story short, God decided that we were going to help bring the Lakota Curlies back to life. π I’m honored and glad that these beautiful horses will prayerfully be brought back; they much deserve it. β₯ Without these amazing people I see around me, the ones God put here for amazing reasons… None of this would be happening without those people- and utmost, without God.
There are very few Lakota curlies, which are different than your normal curly horses.
We recently brought home 4 horses, from Sacred Way Sanctuary. Two of these gorgeous horses being Thunder’s Ceremony, a Lakota stallion, and Matoska.
Matoska and Ulu both have the same father, as well as Yukon.
We are incredibly blessed to be a part of this. These horses are incredible, sweet, stoic, and its truly God-given to have them. They say so much without ever having to speak in mere human tongue- human language is a gift, but horse’s language is just as miraculous.
On that trip to Sacred Way Sanctuary, we also brought home two other horses. Yukon and Cha Cha, whom Roger will be green breaking (training the basics). Yukon and Cha Cha are together. π
Yukon and Cha Cha have been doing wonderful. π And we have halters on both of them (I am so sorry Yukon, for that pink halter…)(Tory was in a hurry and she didn’t mean too… xD)(He’s a very confident stallion.), and a halter on Ceremony. Matoska is a learning process (for all of us, of course), but Ma and Dad both took turns in the round pen with her. Everything went well, and I have photos to share for the above talk!
Also, Roger and Tory worked with Yukon and Cha Cha with trimming hooves and stuff (I was sick so I didn’t get to see. π ). The videos for the sessions are here;
(The links are to our Facebook page, they’re direct; I cannot upload videos to my blog. Sorry for any inconvenience!)
At the time we went to Sacred Way Sanctuary, AL, to pick up these four sweet horses, we also had the chance to look at the newly weaned foals and colts. π They were all very unique, it is so fun just watching them all interact.
I was ‘unleashed’ (lol xD) with my camera, and had the freedom to just take photos. π So I’m going to go ahead and share a few here to give a light on that super amazing trip.
More trip photos!
I think that’s the gist of our step by step journey up till now! π I shall try and make some more posts and pictures too, haha. π
So far, its mind boggling to me, in the best way. I look around and see my family; both human family, and horse family. It hasn’t worked out exactly as we first planned, either- and I love it. We weren’t planning on the Lakota Curly herd. And Yahweh smiled and scooted it our way, because that’s certainly the path He has for us.
And He is far from done.
But that’s for another day. β₯
God bless.
