I must be honest. I don’t read many books about Christmas. At all. Even so, I do love them, and have even written my own!
Today, I’m sharing my favorite books that make me all warm and fuzzy inside, even if snow occurs within the pages! These’ll be Christmas-y or just winter-ish books. 😉
ICEFALL | MATTHEW J. KIRBY
This middle grade novel is still one of the best books I’ve ever read. I adore it. The characters, the setting, the mystery… It is one chilling book!
A CHRISTMAS CAROL | CHARLES DICKENS
HA! A CHRISTMAS BOOK! I love this one sooo much, y’all.
THE LION, THE WITCH, AND THE WARDROBE | C.S. LEWIS
So precious. This classic series is perfect for all seasons, but this book (and the movie, heh) have winter vibes.
THE KITCHEN BOY: A NOVEL OF THE LAST TSAR | ROBERT ALEXANDER
One of my favorite books ever, even if I have problems with the lack of Jesus and heavy themes that hold no hope (which you can’t have without Jesus!). Even so, the story, pacing, and style, as well as the characters, are epic. The cold setting makes me feel like I’m there.
(Note: I suggest readers 13+, due to stronger content and language)
STONES IN WATER | DONNA JO NAPOLI
Ever read a book that you don’t expect a lot from, but then it just hits you right in the heart like a rock? Yeah. This book was like that. The story was moving and the setting is perfect for snowy days. I suggest this for fans of WWII, as well. (Please. Someone read it so we can cry together.)
(Note: the sequel was total garbage so don’t bother with it, though, haha…)
THE NIGHT THE BELLS RANG | NATALIE KINSEY-WARNOCK
I read this as a younger reader, and it really stuck with me. I reread it again this year. It’s not that big or fancy, but goodness, is it touching…
ESTHER ASHTON’S NEW DRESS | KELLYN ROTH
Super sweet and quick read — perfect for the holiday season! =D ♥
THE SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS | CECIL MURPHY
I’m only half-way through this one, but it is precious!
EMMANUEL | ANGELA R. WATTS
Yep, that’s my little story… It is a mini prequel to my The Infidel Books! AND I LOVED WRITING IT. I’m super excited it is published. It’s my first completed Christmas short story. Get it here.
BEHOLD | FAITH POTTS
I have yet to read Behold (because I’m gonna get a paperback copy because I can barely read stuff on Kindle…) by Faith Potts, but since it’s Christmas, I wanted to share this with y’all! I’ve heard great things and knowing Faith, it is bound to be precious!

Oh, some of those look great!! 🙂
=D If you read any, I hope you enjoy them!
Some of these look really interesting….I’m gonna have to look into a couple of them. One Christmas book I return to every year is “The Christmas Doll” — I first read it back in 2005 and I keep coming back to it I almost always choose a different sibling to read it out loud to 😀
AWWW! Reading aloud to kiddos is the BESTEST.
Those all look really good!! I’m glad Emannuel is out!!
Thanks, Parker! 🙂
My pleasure!
My favorite Christmas book is probably Christmas Oranges. It’s really good!
What a cute name! 😀
Esther Ashton’s New Dress and Behold! I love them both!
Okay, you talked me into it. I will read Stones in Water, and I might even cry with you 😉
Eep! Yes! I cannot wait to get a copy of Behold. 😀
AHHHH. *waits for you to read it so we can cry xD*
The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe is so good! I’m reading through the series right now and love it!
Me, too! 🙂 I finished the whole series sometime this year. ♥
I really want to read Behold! 🙂

“Behold” is so good!!!
A Christmas Carol, Esther Ashton’s New Dress, Emmanuel—all so good! Thanks for the shout-out. 😀
Thank YOU!!! 😀
