Greetings, friend! I’ll be sharing my review for A Royal Masquerade today! You can find my book spotlight HERE (don’t miss it! There is a GIVEAWAY!)!
BLURB
Burndee can barely tolerate the mischievous Prince Colin, but the two of them are invariably thrown together in a way that keeps them at one another’s throats.
While attending a noblewoman’s wedding, Burndee and Colin’s private feud comes to a climax when Burndee loses his temper and does the unthinkable. With Prince Colin unable to attend to his royal duties and Burndee bound by an inconvenient spell, can the two of them work together long enough to unsnarl the mysterious goings-on around them?
A madcap and magical retelling of The Goose Girl from a unique perspective.

REVIEW
FTC DISCLOSURE: I received a free ecopy of this book. A positive review was not required. These are my honest thoughts and opinions.
A Royal Masquerade is like a giant cake—sweet, beautiful, and full of delicious surprises!
The writing style and setting were delightfully vivid and entertaining. Just like watching a play or being right there with the character! I could just imagine the garden and palace settings, as well as smell the baked goods. The writing style and setting snagged me in and I loved it to bits.
The characters of A Royal Masquerade were my favorite part. Ms. Tebo has a true gift for being friends with characters who are spirited, funny, and life-like! All too often, fiction nowadays belittles princesses and weakens male characters. ARM was like a glass of fresh lemonade because it had characters who didn’t fall flat or cliche. Ever.
As usual, my favorite was Burndee (maybe because I relate so much to his grumpiness), and Colin was as fantastic as ever. Ella and Cynthia are two lasses that every little girl needs to read about! And MECK. Ha, yes, I skipped the rest of the memorable cast because this furry dude needs billions of hugs. I could almost feel his soft fur and ears!
As for the rest of the cast and plot line, I was amazed. Things were so well woven and hinted, it truly was a joy ride. I was surprised sometimes at the plot’s brilliance. Even though this book was not ‘plot-driven’ because the author wished to show that people are silly and not every book needs to be serious, it was still a focused story! It had character development (EEP!) while also making me laugh.
Overall, I loved this book. A strong 5/5 stars. I look forward to reading it aloud to my young nieces!
